As part of efforts aimed at boosting its roles in the bank-led mobile money system in Nigeria, Teasy Mobile Money has launched its mobile payment services in Zamfara State, Nigeria
The company said the launch is in support of the cashless policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) from which Teasy Mobile Money obtained its practicing license. It added that it is providing all Nigerians with access to banking services to engender financial growth and empowerment among the citizens.
While addressing some of the branchless banking agents in Zamfara state, the Executive Director, Teasy Mobile Money, Agbolade Odunyemi said the launch is a major feat for the organization and nigeria’s banking industry.
He said: “This is a major achievement not just to our organization, but to the financial industry as a whole.”
According to Odunyemi, the supply and demand for financial services in the country has not been the best as supply has not met demand in some regions.
He explained that with the branchless banking initiative, people in the state will have easier access to financial service through the use of their mobile phones and branchless agents close to them across all local government areas of the state.
He disclosed the mobile payment service company will be taking this initiative to every part of the country as it already have agent points in Lagos, Abuja, Adamawa and Kano.
“It is our belief that providing easy ways for people to do financial transactions will help to improve the citizens’ businesses and the economy at large,” he said.
The Zamfara initiative is in collaboration with Asmali Investments, a Gusau-based Agent Network Management firm.
