Microsoft today officially announced another pair of smartphones to its affordable Lumia lineup, the Lumia 435 and the Lumia 532 which happens to be the cheapest Lumia smartphones to date, costing as little as $94, and they promise premium design with the latest Windows Phone 8.1Denim software pre-installed with the Live Folder, Cortana and more. They also come in single sim and dual sim.
Both devices are similar in terms of specifications; with a 5-inch WVGA display, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of expandable storage in both. However, the Lumia 532 has a quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor while the Lumia 435 has the dual-core version of the same chip.
When it comes to the camera, the 532 has a 5-megapixel camera while the Lumia 432 has a 2-megapixel camera. Both devices run Windows Phone 8.1 with the Denim Update, with up to 30GB of free OneDrive storage.
With the specifications being so similar, it’s only right the price tags are, too. The Lumia 435 is priced at €69 in Europe while the Lumia 532 is just at €79.
“When we launched the first Lumia devices over three years ago, we said we were committed to bringing devices to as many people and price points as possible,” said Jo Harlow, corporate vice president for Phones at Microsoft. “With the Lumia 435 and Lumia 532, we’ve realized our goal of creating the most affordable Lumia devices to date, opening up the opportunity to reach those people who are buying a smartphone for the very first time. Lumia 435 and Lumia 532 deliver competitive hardware alongside innovative software that will continue to receive the very latest updates and enhancements, keeping users up-to-date with the best new features.”
Both the Lumia 435 and the Lumia 532 will be available next month in Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East in different colour options like orange, bright green, black, and white.
