Microsoft on Monday unveiled two new Surface devices – Surface Book 3, the company latest, most powerful laptop ever; Surface Go 2, a more affordable and portable 2 in 1 tablet; and two new Surface accessories – Surface Headphones 2, an updated pair of wireless noise-cancelling headphones and Surface Earbuds; a set of wireless earbuds.
Surface Book 3
Microsoft states that this is the most powerful laptop ever with 50% more performance than Surface Book 2 and up to 17.5 hours of battery life. Like other Surface laptops, you can remove the screen from the laptop so that you can use it as a tablet. The Surface comes in two sizes – the 13-inch and the 15 inch and have the performance of 10th Generation Intel® Core™ processors and choice of discrete NVIDIA® GeForce GTX™ or Quadro RTX™ GPUs.
Surface Book 3 now comes with up to 32GB of RAM and the fastest SSD ever shipped. For people who love to game, Surface Book 3 15-inch has an NVIDIA GeForce GTX™ GPU with enough power to play the top Xbox Game Pass for PC titles at 1080p in a smooth 60 frames per second. Microsoft has also added a new option with the NVIDIA Quadro RTX™ 3000 to better meet the needs of commercial customers and higher education institutions.
The price of the 13.5-inch Surface Book 3 starts at $1,599.99 and scales up to $2,699, while the 15-inche version starts at $2,299.99 and can be configured up to a unit with a 2TB SSD for $3,399.99. The Surface will be available as from May 21.
Surface Go 2
Surface Go 2 keeps the same thin, lightweight design as the initial version, but now offers a larger 10.5-inch PixelSense display, improved battery life (10 hours) and a model with up to 64% faster performance than the original with 8th Generation Intel Core M options for the first time.
The Surface Go 2 is available with a 4GB or 8GB RAM. It has a 5MP front-facing camera and a new Camera app for the rear-facing camera to make it easy to scan documents and whiteboards
The Surface Go 2 starts shipping as from May 12, with the base model available for $399.99 and the highest-end, non-LTE option available for $629.99.
Surface Headphones
Microsoft claims that the new Surface headphones is an improvement on the sound quality and battery life, bringing you up to 20 hours of clear sound. You can get a full charge in less than 2 hours.
The active noise cancellation is adjustable through intuitive on-ear dials and specifically tuned to either block out or amplify human voices. It features voice, touch and fingertip controls with 13 levels of active noise cancellation.
Available in Light Gray and new Matte Black, Surface Headphones 2 are priced at $249 and will be available starting May 12
Surface Earbuds
According to Microsoft, you can get up to 8 hours of continuous listening time on a single charge, plus another two 8-hour charges with the charging case. A 10-minute charge provides up to 1 hour of battery life.
Featuring an ultra-comfortable and stable fit, Surface Earbuds offer intuitive touch controls so you can start a phone call or change the song without taking out your phone.
You can also catch up on emails with Play My Emails in the Outlook mobile app for iOS. Plus, dictate in Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Surface Earbuds are priced at $199 and will be available starting May 12.
