This is a question that came up after Microsoft’s event on Wednesday where the Technology giant unveiled among other products, the Surface Studio – an awesome PC that could rival the iMac and the Surface Dial, a one of a kind gadget that allows you interact with onscreen content in new and precise ways. Microsoft also introduced a new laptop – the new Surface Book i7.
These are truly revolutionary products that alter the way you look at basic work tools. Take for instance the Surface Studio, which can tilt to vertical down to about 25 degrees above flat, for use as a drawing surface.
And the Dial…I like the way Wired captures this…If Surface Studio is your drafting table and the Surface Pen stylus is your pencil, then Dial is your palette.
From the comments on various social media networks, people are truly impressed by Microsoft and its innovative products.

Microsoft is beating Apple at courting the professional and creative market.
Microsoft is becoming cooler than Apple. #MicrosoftEvent

And they are now comparing the company with the previously known monarch of innovation, Apple. Business Insider reports that an analyst dared to ask Tim Cook the unthinkable question – Was the company now just a follower of other’s innovations? Of course, Cook was none too pleased with the question, or the implication. This was after Apple’s report of the first decline in revenues since 2001.
The next day, Apple introduced its own new innovation or may I say, tweak to an existing product – The Touch Bar on the new MacBook Pro. The Touch Bar has replaced the set of function keys on the keypad. Well it also introduced some other new products like a new app – TV.
Honestly speaking, I think we already know Apple for the iPod, the iPhone, the iPad, the first verbal digital assistant, Siri. I do believe the world is waiting for much more than just tweaks to already existing products.
Else we may have to say that Microsoft is now truly more innovative than Apple. Or what do you think?
