Tech giant Microsoft has announced the introduction of Windows Copilot, an AI ‘personal assistant’ for Windows 11. This makes Windows 11 the first PC platform to announce centralized AI assistance for users. This announcement was made at the company’s Build developer conference on Tuesday.
Activating Windows Copilot is a user-friendly and intuitive process. The button is conveniently located in front and centre on your taskbar. Once activated, the Windows Copilot side bar remains consistent across all your applications, programs, and windows, serving as your dedicated personal assistant. This powerful tool empowers every user, enabling you to take swift action, personalize your settings, and seamlessly connect with your preferred applications.
According to Panos Panay, Chief Product Officer, Windows and Devices, “with Bing and ChatGPT plugins in Windows Copilot, people will not only have access to augmented AI capabilities and experiences, but you as developers will also have new ways to reach and innovate for our shared customers. We welcome you to be part of the Windows Copilot journey by continuing to invest in Bing and ChatGPT plugins so your investments will carry forward to Windows Copilot.”
Windows Copilot will start to become available in preview for Windows 11 in June, stay tuned and sign up here to get updates from the team.
