On Wednesday, Microsoft announced the rollout of a new feature that allows users to share files between their iPhones and Windows 11 or Windows 10 PCs using the company’s Phone Link app and Link to Windows app. This new capability is currently being made available to Windows Insiders.

Windows Insiders can now download the latest update for the Phone Link app to enable this new functionality, which allows seamless file sharing between an iPhone and a PC.

To share a file from your iPhone to your PC, follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to the file you wish to share on your iPhone.
    2. Tap the share icon.
    3. Select the “Link to Windows” option.
    4. Choose the device you want to share the file with.

To share a file from your PC to your iPhone, follow these steps:

    1. Select the file you want to share on your PC.
    2. Right-click on the file.
    3. Select the “My phone” option.

At this time, it is not known when this file-sharing capability will be available to all Phone Link users.

Microsoft initially launched Phone Link for iOS last year, enabling iPhone users to make and receive phone calls, send and receive messages via iMessage, access their contacts, and view their phone’s notifications directly on their Windows PC. Prior to this, the app was only available to users with Android phones.
