In a new partnership deal with Plaid, people will now be able to automatically import their bank and credit card details into a recently added personal finance tool, Money in Excel.

This new feature is first made available to Microsoft 365 users in the US. The Money feature will make it easy for users to manage, track, and analyse their earnings and spending all in one place on the Excel spreadsheet software.

The goal is to provide personalized insights on all aspects of an individual’s financial life in order to improve spending habits.

Commenting on the new partnership through the company’s blog, Eric Sager, COO, Plaid, says:

” In light of what’s going on in the world, the need for a digitally delivered financial system has never been more pressing. During this crisis people are learning new digital habits which may have long-lasting effects on consumer behavior. In many ways, the situation is shining a light on areas that need better experiences for consumers. We believe every company will become a fintech company in some way and that delivering financial services is no longer the sole domain of the traditional providers.”

    Eric Sager, COO, Plaid.

Visa recently acquired Plaid for an outstanding 5.3 billion dollars.
