At Conversations, Meta’s annual business messaging event in Sao Paulo, Brazil, it unveiled the latest WhatsApp product updates for businesses, including AI tools, Meta Verified, and expanded calling support, as part of its ongoing investment in new capabilities to help people and businesses connect and conduct business on WhatsApp.
AI Tools to Enhance Customer Support for Businesses
AI tools on WhatsApp enable businesses to assist their customers more effectively and help them discover new products of interest. By training AI to respond to the most common questions businesses receive, Meta ensures customers can quickly find the answers they need.
Additionally, Meta is integrating AI to assist businesses in creating ads on Facebook and Instagram. These ads can remind customers of items left in their cart or offer discounts on purchases they’ve been considering.
Meta Verified Comes to WhatsApp
Meta has started rolling out Meta Verified on the WhatsApp Business app in Brazil, India, Indonesia and Colombia. When you see a Meta Verified badge, it indicates that a business has registered its information with Meta. Meta Verified businesses receive enhanced account support, including protection against impersonation, and can use WhatsApp across multiple devices for their employees. This badge will also appear on the business’s WhatsApp Channel and custom WhatsApp page.
Calling for Larger Businesses
Meta is introducing the ability to call larger businesses on WhatsApp with a single tap. Whether you have a complex travel request or need to discuss opening a new bank account, a quick call can provide the best assistance. It has just begun testing this feature and plans to expand it to more businesses in the coming months.
