Meta has rolled out a new feature for gaming video creators on Facebook to convert live gameplay clips into Reels.
Actually, the company unveiled “Clips to Reels” in June this year to help game video creators to create 60-second Reels using pre-existing Facebook Gaming content.
Meta says it’s now easy to trim clips of their favourite gameplay moments into a 60-second vertical format, with two views for gameplay and the creator’s camera.
The new Clips-to-Reels feature allows creators to format and share clip highlights and VODs from their Creator Studio clip library in a simplified process.
First, visit the Creator Studio portal on your desktop, navigate to the Clips category in the File Management section, and select the clip you want to convert.
As Meta explains in a blog post you’d need to select “Create Reel” from the drop down menu and trim it down to fit the length requirements of Reels and crop the sections of your video to include the footage area where your primary gameplay occurs alongside your face cam.
The tool will do the rest of the work to align the correct layout for Reels. When you’re done, simply navigate to the Share tab to preview the Reel, add a caption, include hashtags, and post it directly to your page.
If you want to add stickers, music, or GIFs, you can download the completed Reel and then re-upload it to Instagram and Facebook to utilize each apps creative tools.
Facebook Gaming is looking to add some cool features in the future for content creators to get more subscribers. There are three main competitors in the game streaming market: Twitch, YouTube Gaming, and TikTok.
Facebook Gaming has had an uphill battle, but this new feature should help improve it a bit. Meta hopes to launch it to all Facebook content creators “in the coming weeks”.
