    Meet the Nine Senegalese Startups Pitching at Seedstars Dakar

    Seedstars World has announced the nine Senegalese startups that will pitch at the year’s Seedstars Dakar pitch event. The pitch event, which will be held on this Friday will see nine of Senegal’s seed-stage startups compete to represent the country at the Seedstars Summit in Switzerland. In addition, the winning startup will be in the running for $1-million in equity investments.

    A jury panel comprised of Brightmore Capital managing partner Ndeye Thiaw, Byfilling CEO Diallo Mohamed, Jumia Travel Senegal CEO Mamadou Marème Diop, Kinaya Lab founder Laïssa Mouen, and Seedstars East Africa associate Fany Dauchez will select the winners.

    The selected startups range from a tourism enterprise, an off-grid energy solutions company to mobility and logistics businesses.

    Dakar Lives: Dakar Lives helps tourists and travellers discover African culture and tourism in Senegal, Guinea, Togo, Mali and Morocco through Instagram and digital media.

    Loyset: With the help of partners, Loyset helps Senegalese citizens recover important lost documents like ID cards and passports.

    Mtick: Mtick is a digital ticket marketplace for West Africa. Its online platform allows customers to purchase tickets using mobile money services.

    MusikBi: This startup’s main focus is the promotion of the media and entertainment industries through digital platforms.

    OniriQ: OniriQ is a Franco-Senegalese startup that provides off-grid West African populations with access to solar energy and internet access.

    Paps: Paps is an on-demand delivery startup which operates an express delivery service aimed at businesses and retailers across Dakar.

    Townpay: This startup allows municipalities to collect more revenue by digitising the collection of local taxes.

    Sunubus: Sunubus is a collaborative and predictive mobile application which uses artificial intelligence to locate buses and transport lines.

    Weebi: Weebi is a point of sale (POS) solution that enables merchants to invoice clients, backup sales transactions, and track their sales.
