Masaya Nakamura, the Japanese pioneer of video games known as ” the father of Pac-Man, ” a hit of the 1980s, died on Jan. 22 at the age of 91 years, however, the death of the most famous video game pioneer, was announced by his own company Bandai Namco on Monday. No cause was given, and the company did not say where he died.
A private wake and funeral were held for Nakamura, and a separate memorial is being organised.
Nakamura, founded in 1955 his own company, which later became Namco and in 2005 merged with the Japanese giant Bandai toy.
