Marvel has released the trailer for Avengers 4. Avengers: Endgame is the official title for the final Avengers film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s 22-film collection. It will be released on April 26, 2019, instead of the previously announced May 3, 2019 release date. Interestingly, the trailer was also released.
The trailer shows the aftermath of the Avengers: Infinity War, as we see the heroes that Thanos didn’t vaporize — Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, and Thor, among others — begin to come to terms with what happened when half of all life disappeared from the planet. The trailer also shows some familiar faces who weren’t part of Infinity War, like Hawkeye.
Notably absent are giant fight scenes or Captain Marvel, the photon-wielding space commander who is expected to make her Avengers debut in Avengers: Endgame and help save the day.
Avengers: Endgame was first rumoured as the official title earlier this year. “End Game” is an extremely popular title used in comics, making it a nice throwback for fans of various Marvel comic book series. It’s still a pretty generic title, meaning hungry fans looking for something to dig into may be left disappointed.
