    MainOne, Smile Communications seal Long Term Agreement

    MainOne, West Africa’s leading telecommunications services company and Smile Communications, provider of 4G LTE Broadband internet service, have signed a contract agreement for the purchase of long term capacity on the MainOne network. The agreement signing took place at the Smile Communications facility in Victoria Island, Lagos on Thursday 24th July, 2014.

    The new agreement will extend the tenor of Smile’s existing services with MainOne and add significant growth to support Smile’s growth push in the Nigerian market.

    Speaking at the formal ceremony, the Chief Sales & Marketing Officer (CSMO) of MainOne, Mr. Folu Aderibigbe said that the agreement with Smile Communications will not only strengthen broadband penetration in the country but empower future generations to be competitive and tech-savvy.

    “This project”, Aderibigbe noted, “is an important example of MainOne’s commitment to bring high-speed broadband access to Africa and we are proud to be providing international capacity to Smile Communications, thereby supporting their efforts in ensuring broad-based economic growth in Nigeria.”

    Also, the Group Chief Operating Officer (GCOO), Smile Communications, Tom Allen noted that Smile’s initiative to connect with MainOne will provide an opportunity for its client’s to interact, engage in e-commerce activities, product advertising and online surveys, thereby achieving the goal of making the world a global village’.

    In its four years of operation, MainOne has emerged the preferred provider of bandwidth connectivity solutions to leading organisations in Nigeria. Its clientele includes organisations from different sectors of the economy to include; Radisson Blu, Etisalat, Konga.com, Skye Bank and University of Lagos.
