In honour of the yet unnamed princess, the day-old daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate Middleton, London went pink.
Famous landmarks as well as other lights all over the city, were turned pink in honour of the young royalty. Some of the famous landmarks are The Golden Jubilee Bridge, the Fountain at Merchant Square In Paddington Basin, the London Eye, Hilton London Paddington.
London’s iconic BT Tower also announced with a rolling pink banner which read ‘It’s a girl!’
Wondering why so much fuss about this particular baby? Well, this is the first time since the birth of Princess Anne in the 1950s that a female will be born into the royal family. This is why monuments are lighting up in pink – the unofficial color for the girl child.
