In a move set to boost African businesses’ digital activities, Cassava Technologies’ Liquid C2 has embarked on collaborations with two global tech juggernauts – Google Cloud and Anthropic, a company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI). This strategic partnership leverages Google Cloud’s and Anthropic’s tech sophistications, promising to take cloud and cyber security solutions as well as generative AI (gen AI) applications to a new level on the African continent.

Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Google Cloud in November 2023, Liquid C2 intends to enhance cloud and cyber security services throughout Africa. The African tech business will deploy Google Cloud’s current AI, data, collaboration, and security solutions, thereby amplifying the digital security landscape for businesses. Hence, Liquid C2’s clientele can anticipate intensified security protocols, exposure to cutting-edge cloud technologies, and a more fortified defence of their digital assets.

Moreover, Liquid C2 is on track to becoming one of the largest Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) for Google Cloud in Africa. This partnership unites Google Cloud’s superior security mechanisms with Liquid C2’s expertise and vision for delivering wholesome security consultations. Also, such a powerful synergy would see Liquid C2 relay the functionalities of Google Cloud and Anthropic’s AI frameworks to its customers through Google Cloud’s Vertex AI platform1. Consequently, businesses can swiftly create and launch solutions within their individual cloud spaces.

Liquid C2, recognized as a strategic partner for Google Cloud’s ground-breaking solutions in Africa, will also introduce customers to Google Workspace. Google Workspace, a cloud-native environment designed for team integration, comes fitted with in-built gen AI tools. These tools and features are aimed at assisting employees in content creation and enhancing productivity and cooperation within workplaces.

Liquid C2, a division of Cassava Technologies, is working hand-in-hand with global tech leaders Google Cloud and Anthropic to bolster cybersecurity measures, provide gen AI capabilities, and create a safe, productive digital space. As Africa increasingly becomes a tech innovation hub, collaborations like these catalyze progress, stimulate creativity, and attract international investments.

In an allied development, Liquid C2 is co-developing AI solutions with Anthropic, a rapidly-growing AI company worldwide. This partnership aims at large enterprises seeking to leverage AI to boost productivity and revenue growth. Anthropic’s strategic alliance with Google Cloud provides access to their AI models, collectively known as Claude, that excel in complex reasoning, creativity, and coding. This is available via Google Cloud’s Vertex AI platform.

Through their partnership, Liquid C2 and Anthropic are committed to equipping African businesses with cutting-edge AI technology. This integration of AI across various sectors intends to fuel growth and position Africa prominently on the global digital map. The collaboration further allows for gen AI application across all businesses, irrespective of size or industry.

Google Cloud’s CEO, Thomas Kurian, emphasizes that businesses increasingly depend on generative AI for better operational efficiencies, enhanced customer experiences, and employee empowerment. Google’s $1 billion investment in Africa’s digital transformation echoes this sentiment. Collaboration with market leaders such as Liquid C2 and Anthropic aims to bring gen AI, security, and other cloud technologies to African businesses. Thus, it has the potential to overhaul how African businesses interact with and serve their customers by building a foundation for innovation.

Presently, over 80% of the biggest businesses and organizations in over 31 African countries utilize a wide range of advanced digital technologies from Liquid’s global vendors. Several of these organizations express readiness to transition to AI. Liquid C2 will continue to deliver best-in-class solutions as a multi-vendor provider.

Liquid C2’s collaborations with Google Cloud and Anthropic represent a significant advancement in its journey to becoming Africa’s leading cloud and cybersecurity provider, according to Strive Masiyiwa, Co-founder and Executive Chairman of Cassava Technologies. These partnerships will enable the creation of AI-powered solutions to tackle unique challenges and exploit opportunities in Africa’s digital transformation journey. He highlights that responsible AI is vital for opening economic opportunities and empowering businesses and individuals across the continent.

Anthropic’s President Daniela Amodei is thrilled about their partnership with Liquid C2 and Google Cloud. She believes Anthropic’s safe, steerable AI, combined with Google Cloud’s secure, scalable infrastructure, augurs significant growth potential for African businesses.
