Lionel Messi, the world cup winning captain of the Argentine national team, has added another feather to his cap by posting the most liked post on Instagram ever. His Instagram post showing him lifting the world cup in celebration has become the most popular post on social media with over 68.1 million likes as at the time of writing this article.
The post has 10 photos in a gallery showing Lionel Messi and the Argentine team celebrating the win over France in one of the most exciting FIFA World cup final matches in decades. Argentina won the match 4 – 2 via a penalty shootout after it ended 2-2 after regular 90 minutes, and 3-3 after extra 30 mins.
He attached the following message to the post in Spanish. When translated it reads,
