Lifebank, a healthcare technology and logistics company based in Lagos, has unveiled a 700 cubic metre medical oxygen plant, AirCo, in Nasarawa State in a bid to scale up Nigeria’s capacity for oxygen supply.
The AirCo by Lifebank oxygen plant in Nasarawa State was built with support from Oxygen Hub, a sub-saharan company.
According to the CEO of Lifebank, Temie Giwa-Tubosun, “Lifebank believes that with AirCo, all the 29 million people in Nasarawa State and the other states in the north central region will have a steady supply of oxygen to cater to critically ill patients in hospitals. This product launch is in line with their commitment to saving a million lives across Africa”
“For us, that is why we built this plant, to be able to meet the demands that we have across our hospitals from tertiary centres to Primary Healthcare Centres where our people get access to health care,” she added.
According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Oxygen Hub, Efferson Hailemichael, the AirCo by Lifebank oxygen plant in Nasarawa State has a production capacity of 100 million cylinders per day and it was the first plant in Nigeria. This is the second of Oxygen Hub plants in Africa, with the first plant already launched in Nairobi, Kenya.
