LG’s Gram SuperSlim takes on MacBook Air with impressive specs

LG has released its latest addition to the Gram lineup, the SuperSlim. This laptop boasts a slim and lightweight design that is comparable to the MacBook Air. The laptop weighs just two pounds and is .43-inches thick, making it one of the thinnest and lightest laptops on the market. The SuperSlim features a 15.6-inch anti-glare OLED display with a 100% DCI-P33 color gamut and VESA DisplayHDR True Black integration. The laptop also has an Intel Evo 13th Gen processor and Intel Iris Xe GPU.

LG’s new laptop has passed seven tests for military-grade durability, a significant improvement over previous models, which had issues surrounding flexibility and build quality. The laptop comes with a compact power adapter, a full HD camera with integrated microphones, and three USB-C ports, two of which support Thunderbolt 4 connections.

The laptop comes in two SKUs, with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD for $1,700 or 32GB of RAM and a 2TB SSD for $2,000. LG is offering a free Gram +view portable monitor with every purchase of the SuperSlim until May 14th.

LG’s new laptop is a direct competitor to the MacBook Air, and while it has a larger display, the MacBook Air has a higher resolution. The SuperSlim only has a 1080p resolution, but its OLED display makes up for it in terms of color quality.

The SuperSlim is part of LG’s Gram line of laptops, which is known for its thin and lightweight design. Other laptops in the line include the Gram Style, which features a glass design and anti-glare OLED screens, and the regular Gram laptops in 17-, 16-, 15- and 14-inch variants with IPS displays, updated Raptor Lake Intel chips, and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop graphics. The Gram 2-in-1 line also received an update with 360-degree rotating hinges and pre-installed note-taking and drawing apps designed for the bundled LG Stylus Pen.

The LG Gram SuperSlim is available now in the US, with the 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD SKU costing $1,700, and the 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD SKU costing $2,000. LG is offering a complimentary 16-inch portable monitor with every purchase until May 14th.
