Tech giant, LG Electronics, has made strong bold steps indicating its interests in robotics and artificial intelligence with the establishment of research centers focusing on the development of technologies for artificial intelligence and robots, this was announced by the company.

According to LG, it aims to lead the global market’s fourth industrial revolution. At the AI Lab, experts will be building solutions around weather and other sectors, they will use the platform that will be developed to improve LG products, including smart home appliances, mobile phones, TVs and auto parts.

At LG’s new Advanced Robotics Lab on the other hand, experts will be developing leading technologies for intelligent robots.

“The two research centers will cooperate with the company’s H&A Smart Solution Business Division and other cloud centers to develop a new growth engine for the future, such as AI-based home appliances and robots,” LG said in a statement.

According to a media report, LG Electronics also intends to hire artificial intelligence professionals.

“We will graft key technologies in the fourth industrial revolution such as AI, big data and IoT onto existing businesses to transform them to become new business paradigms,” said Ahn Seung-kwon, LG’s Chief Technology Officer.
