LG May Be Through With Smartphones But Check Out Its Latest Earbuds

As it continued to count its losses and billions of dollars seem to be wasted on making fancy phones, the electronics giant officially ditched its struggling phone division on April 5th, 2021.

Almost Like a “No Retreat, No Surrender!”

After the Brand’s disappointing departure from the mobile space, LG announced three new wireless earbuds in its lineup. The company says that ‘fit’ and ‘comfort’ are top priorities for these latest earbuds.

The company wrote about these new additions to its product line confirming that it teamed with a leading ergonomic design technology lab to analyze hundreds of subjects’ ears, resulting in Arc Design with an earbud stem 4.4 millimeters shorter than on previous models to create the perfect balance and fit for an active lifestyle.

The new LG Tone Free FP wireless earbuds come with a “Whisper Mode” option that lets you hold the right earbud close to your mouth while you’re on a call. This is a great privacy feature so you don’t have to speak loud enough for the sound to be heard by the earbuds.

    Description

The FP5, FP8, and FP9 all have similar features. The trio have Active Noise Cancellation to reduce the impact of low-frequency sounds. Then three microphones are integrated to reduce the impact of external sounds for better call quality.

The stem of these earbuds are 4.4mm shorter than previous LG models and have improved drivers and diaphragms. LG claims to offer more bass without compromising clarity. The spatial processing of the headphones and the 3D sound field provide an audio experience that envelops the listener completely.

    Unique Features

However, there is something interesting about the FP9 headset, whose case can also be used as a wireless transmitter to use the headset with devices without bluetooth. With USB-C for an additional cable, this box can be plugged into anything from a game console to an on-board entertainment system, eliminating the need for a separate Bluetooth adapter.

Both the FP8 and FP9 earbuds come with LG’s antibacterial UV technology. According to LG, this can kill 99.9% of bacteria in the speaker’s mesh for both earbuds. This action is in five minutes and has the ability to reduce the risk of infections in the inner ear.

    Battery Life

Both earbuds also have better battery life compared to the FP5 and can be charged for 10 hours or operated for up to 24 hours when used with the charging case (the FP5 is designed for 8 or 22 hours). Only FP8 supports wireless charging.

    Pricing

LG has confirmed its new Tone Free FP series will be available starting July. Colours to expect are the Charcoal Black and Pearl White. FP8 and FP9 will also be coming in Haze Gold colour. The company is yet to release information as regards pricing and update will done on this article once confirmed.
