LemFi has introduced Global Accounts, a new financial solution that allows Nigerians to receive, hold, and transact in USD and GBP directly through the LemFi app. The product targets Africa’s growing freelance and digital economy, enabling professionals to access global payments without intermediaries or delays.
The solution provides true international account functionality, giving users local account numbers in USD and GBP, so they can receive payments from overseas clients and platforms as if they had physical accounts abroad. Users can top up, convert, withdraw, or spend funds globally, all with transparent fees and full control.
“African freelancers are world-class. With Global Accounts, we’re giving them what they’ve always deserved: direct access to the global financial system, no more asking friends abroad for help, no more feeling left out of global moments,” said Ridwan Olalere, co-founder and CEO of LemFi.
LemFi’s Global Accounts address long-standing pain points for Africa’s digital workforce, including high transaction costs, payment delays, and unreliable cross-border transfers. The product ensures freelancers and digital entrepreneurs can receive payments directly, avoid unnecessary workarounds, and keep more of what they earn.
Available immediately for customers in Nigeria via the LemFi mobile app, Global Accounts currently support USD and GBP, with plans to add more currencies in the future. The launch underscores LemFi’s mission to build a financial ecosystem where users can live, earn, and belong anywhere in the world.
