Remember the popular Lumia 1020, the smartphone with a 40MP camera? If you love that device and wondered when it’ll be upgraded with a better model – since every other Lumia flagships got upgrades. Well, there’s good news and not-so-bad-news… WMPowerUser reports that a recently leaked dummy unit – code name “Lumia McLaren” or Lumia 1030 could just be a successor to the Nokia Lumia 1020, and claims to be a big step up from it’s predecessor.
According to their source the handset will feature a massive sensor, a higher resolution than the 1020 with 50 megapixel camera, and also physically larger with a 5 to 6inch 1080p display. Rumoured specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, a sensor said to be manufactured by Toshiba, and will be accompanied by a shutter-less design – 4th generation short pulse LED flash… and might launch with a metal design, but all these are just rumours though.
We have read other rumours which claims that this is not the final design, but that a Lumia is definitely heading to Windows Phone at Mobile World Congress in March 2015 and it could be the 1030 replacement, who know? Probably the hottest news here is that Microsoft was reported to launch 3D Touch technology with this Lumia device but we’ll just have to wait till next year for this device to be released.
