Lagos Startup Week enters second day

By Paul Adepoju on July 28, 2015 Events, Exclusive, Startups

Today, Tuesday, is the second day of Lagos Startup Week 2015 and there are exciting events lined up already including the smarter city showcase which is aimed at discovering the best startups business and technology solutions for smart cities that meet the needs of citizens and improve overall living conditions.

Another session would help startups address the issue of funding before securing funding and it would be handled by Seeedstar World’s Marcello Schermer.

The session was put together based on the belief that it is easy to get caught up in the world of pitches, investors and venture capital.  But, the truth is most startups require some form of traction in order to demonstrate their investability.  The good news is that there are many ways to create the cash flow in an early stage venture without raising institutional capital.

There will also be a session focusing on women. This particular event will have a unique spin: a focus on connecting and showcasing the talents of women entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs.  It is focused around promoting women entrepreneurship in the Nigerian community without excluding male participants.

These and several other events will hold today, tomorrow and until Friday when the week will end with the Seedstar Lagos challenge
