It is known as Workers Day in some parts and Labour day in other parts. All the same, May 1 of every day is an annual holiday to celebrate the achievements of workers. Labour Day has its origins in the labour union movement, specifically the eight-hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest.
It is May 1 in most parts of Europe and Asia but in America, this holiday holds on the first Monday in September.
Google is also identifying with the holiday by putting up a Google Doodle. The doodle shows men and women doing various jobs around the redesigned Google logo. Men and women can be seen painting, gardening, doing computer work and fixing leaks in this doodle.
