Classified ads are not new, it’s become popular in Nigeria as a result of the growing number of online classifieds platforms.

But Kwilist, although a classifieds site like all others, is doing something different, and is set to revolutionize the online classifieds space.

Unlike the regular practice of posting photos of items for sale, Kwilist is an online classified marketplace for cars, where users are able to advertise their vehicles by recording and uploading ad videos.

Launched on April 17, 2017 by Ore Richard, the platform enables sellers to provide buyers not just a visual, but a detailed verbal description of their cars, while showing its functionalities.

For buyers, it gives them the ability to inspect both the interior and exterior of vehicles, know its condition, and make more informed judgements before closing purchase deals.

All of these is provided for buyers and sellers, at no cost.

According to the founder, “Kwilist is the perfect answer the buyers have been waiting for. It allows one who wants to buy a car to inspect the car right without travelling miles. It’s a perfect solution against fraud.”

When it comes to uploading and watching videos, one worry one would have is consuming so much data, but Kwilist is providing a solution to that challenge.

The platform auto compresses uploaded videos to give great viewing quality and light-weight playback files. Hence, a 200MB video uploaded can be watched with less than 20MB.

Although it majors on video ads, it also supports conventional picture ads for users who are interested in just seeing photos if what they intend to purchase.

For regular classifieds sites, users looking to purchase vehicles always have to resort to leaving their homes, and sometimes, traveling long distance, just to carry out inspection and ensure the car is in good quality.

Kwilist’s is providing an innovative solutions to that challenge, enabling buyers to inspect vehicles from the comfort of their homes.

Despite having big players like Jiji and OLX to compete with in the online classifieds market, the Kwilist founder is undeterred and confident that the platform’s unique offering would give him an edge.
