    Konga describes Giveaway Promo as scam

    One of Nigeria’s major ecommerce platforms, Konga.com, has been targeted by online scammers who are asking members of the public to fill an online survey form and get airtime in exchange.

    The scam which has already gone viral on various social media platforms in being pitched to unsuspecting members of the public as a giveaway promo by the company. But in a newsletter sent to customers this afternoon, and gotten by Innovation Village, Konga dissociated itself from the promo which it described as a scam.

    The company also warned members of the public who got the mail against filling their personal data.

    Konga said: “It has come to our attention that sham messages are going round on various social media and online platforms, requesting people to provide personal information or fill a form in exchange for airtime.

    “Please note that these messages titled, KONGA AIRTIME GIVEAWAY are NOT from Konga.com

    “Anyone that responds to these messages or that provides information to these individuals does so at his/her own risk.”
