Nigeria’s major ecommerce platform, Konga.com has revealed that although 2013 has been an amazing year for the company, it totally dedicates the year to its teeming customers. In an exclusive chat, a company rep said the company survived the year by working as a team.
“We totally dedicate this year to our customers who are the reason why we are around in the first place and have driven every thing that we have done as a company. At the beginning of the December, we received an email from Sim Shagaya telling us that this December may be our most important and trying month as a company and an opportunity for us to truly endear ourselves to Nigerians. This was before the beginning of our Black Friday and Cyber Monday Sales which saw us set records for orders and revenue, etc,” the rep said.
In addition to other feats, the company celebrated its first year anniversary in 2013 and bagged several awards.
He said: “Konga.com won the Marketing World Award 2013 Online retailer of the year and best emerging brands, Sim also won several personal awards including the CNBC Africa entrepreneur of the year and the Tush Awards Young Entrepreneur of the year.”
The company also revealed that the sale numbers of its Black Friday and Cyber Monday were more than two times higher than the total number of orders and revenue for December.
“2012 was an experiment but 2013 is the beginning of this beauty we are building, she may have had some bruises and may have offended some people but she wants to be part of the life of Nigerians forever,” the rep said.
