How to Know if your Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is safe

The past few weeks for Samsung, the biggest mobile phone maker in the world, has been challenging and one to forget. The reason? Its Galaxy Note 7 which it expected to rake in much-needed profit has been exploding due to overheating batteries.

Samsung Galaxy Note explosion has been recorded in the UK, the US, and China which prompted Samsung to activate a worldwide recall of the smartphone. This has significantly affected Samsung’s sales projection.

To cushion the effect of the phone explosion, Samsung has launched a new website that allows users to enter their IMEI number to see if their Galaxy Note 7 is safe or not.

Also, Samsung has added a square sign on the packaging for the phone. If you observe a black square close to the bar code, your phone may not explode.

Despite this sign, which can easily be manipulated, the most guaranteed and safe way to know if your phone is safe or not is to use the website option. This is important for Nigeria, where there is little or no checks on mobile phones and other devices or gadgets arriving the country.
