    Kenya set to attract more ICT investments from India

    Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i yesterday announced that more than 100 investors from India will tour Kenya in search of to seek ICT related business opportunities in September.

    A statement from the Kenyan government revealed the tour plan by the Indian Tech based Company Executives follows a successful tour by the ICT Cabinet Secretary in India a few weeks ago to woo investor to invest in Kenya’s growing ICT sector.

    Dr. Matiang’i said Konza Techno City provides limitless ICT investment opportunities for entrepreneurs, adding that the Techno City has the potential to create an estimated 200,000 jobs for youths.

    “All we are interested in today as a country is to create jobs for our youths through strategies to promote growth in all sectors of the economy,” said Dr. Matiang’i.

    Dr. Matiang’i made the remarks today during a farewell luncheon for the outgoing Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) Mr. John Ngumi at a Nairobi hotel.

    Mr. Ngumi who joined KoTDA in 2012 has moved to Kenya Pipeline Company Ltd in the same capacity.

    Dr. Matiang’I said: “With successful innovations such as Mpesa, Kenya has set itself as a leader in embracing tech solutions to promote business in the African region.”
