The Kaduna State government has commissioned an ICT hub in a bid to achieve its target of having vibrant ICT sector in the state.
The hub was declared open on the 5th of April as part of the highlights at the recently concluded KADInvest 2.0 Economic summit which held from the 5th – 6th of April.
The government also launched an innovative tool to track performance of the state’s projects. The platform is called the “Eyes and Ears Project Citizen Feedback Systems, (CitiFeed).”
According to the Commissioner, Budget and Planning at Kaduna State Government, Muhammad Sani Dattijo, “government cannot monitor status of capital projects alone so we are democratizing Monitoring and Evaluation in Kaduna.”
The E&E project is a policy tool used by the Kaduna State government to:
- Provide evidence based feedback on budget implementation process;
- Provide actionable data on budget implementation by promoting learning on what works, what doesn’t work and why;
- Support the govt to make resources allocation decisions particularly in a climate of continuing budget constraints; and
- Provide an early warning system for projects and programmes at risks of failing
CitiFeed provides citizens with information on government’s projects and programmes so as to enhance transparency and provide the governor with an additional reporting layer separate from the government’s internal mechanisms.
The platforms for citizen engagement include:
- Customer Feedback App
- SMS/Toll Free line and
- Social Media integration
The customer feedback app is currently available in the Google Playstore for download. The Commissioner promised that the iOS version would be available in a couple of weeks.
