The website of Nigeria’s major ecommerce website Jumia Nigeria was temporarily down on Wednesday evening, Innovation Village can exclusively report.

Official information on the landing page revealed the platform underwent scheduled maintenance and the company apologized for inconveniences promising to be back shortly.
This is not the first time that a major ecommerce platform in Nigeria will be temporarily down. During its maiden Black Friday Yakata Sales promotion, Konga.com, Jumia’s major competition also went offline due to traffic that exceeded the company’s expectations.

There is no official statement yet on why Jumia’s website is temporarily down. But the site came back online around 7pm local time
