JUMIA Nigeria expands operations to Kano as it turns 2 years old

By Staff Writer on June 26, 2014 Ecommerce, Jumia, Press Release

Jumia Nigeria, Africa’s E-commerce giant, continues to expand and reach out to a larger audience two years after its establishment in Nigeria.

The majority of Nigeria’s population is in the North, with 10 states located in this region. JUMIA Nigeria is giving millions of Nigerians the opportunity to enjoy a more convenient shopping experience.

Two years after it was first established in Nigeria, JUMIA is now the country’s largest online retailer. Part of the brand’s aim is to provide customers with choice in retail, with a large selection of products and multiple payment options. JUMIA also introduced the cash on delivery initiative to retail in Nigeria, offering Northern states the payment option of paying for their goods on delivery.

‘We continue to innovate new ways to reach out to a larger audience, and part of this is with our operation’s expansion to Kano and other states in Nigeria. This expansion is one of many to come as we already have hub stations in 9 other states. We continue to deliver smiles thousands of miles around Nigeria to our well appreciated customers as we turn 2 years old’ stated Nicola Martin Co-CEO JUMIA Nigeria

Customers in the North can now shop on Jumia with multiple payment options on all items, and also enjoy a faster delivery time of up to 2 working days.

This expansion can be seen as part of e-commerce growth to meet the needs of customers all over the country
