E-commerce platform Jumia has appointed Betty Mwangi as its Kenya Chief Executive Officer. Mwangi will take over from Sam Chappatte and will direct her attention to speeding up the corporate growth of the company.
Mwangi is an engineer with 20 years of experience in the telecommunications, insurance, and pharmaceuticals industry. She has served as Group Commercial Director for Britain Group PLC and also worked for Safaricom M-Pesa as Director of Financial Services from 2007 to 2016.
She was also recognized twice as one of the top 20 most powerful African women.
