The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) of Egypt has joined forces with Techne Summit, an influential platform for tech entrepreneurship, to transform the artificial intelligence (AI) sector in Africa, with a special emphasis on Egypt.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between Techne Summit and ITIDA to initiate “AI Accelerate: Nurturing Tomorrow’s Tech Champions in Africa.” This initiative is designed to boost the development of AI-centric businesses and support tech entrepreneurs throughout the continent.

The collaboration has set forth a three-year plan dedicated to weaving AI into the economic and social fabric, aiming to establish a resilient, technology-forward future. Central to this collaboration is the Corporate Innovation Programme, which acts as a conduit for AI startups to engage with large, established corporations.

The programme provides a robust support system that encompasses in-depth mentorship, access to technical resources, and strategic business advice. Key corporate players such as Nvidia and Novartis are integral to the programme, bringing their international expertise and resources to the table to assist startups in honing their AI solutions and scaling their operations effectively.
