There is a new investor report from Ming-Chi Kuo that predicts the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will include a 1TB storage configuration (9to5Mac reports) on September 14th. In addition, Kuo claims that the 128GB, 256GB and 512GB storage capacities for the iPhone 13 would be absent.
AirPods 3 are also expected to be revealed on Tuesday, Kuo said, but Apple would likely keep AirPods 2 available. Although he warns that the iPhone 13 could be hindered by supply chain shortages, he believes that the impact on iPhone 13 shipments will be minimal.
We believe that iPhone’s current production challenge is the component shortage. Due to the component shortage, the legacy models had been cut by about 5–10% in 3Q21. The iPhone 13 shipment in 4Q21 may have a potential downside risk due to component shortage. However, this downside has a limited impact on iPhone 13 shipments. We believe that iPhone 13 shipments in 2021 can grow by more than 10% YoY (vs. iPhone 12 shipments in 2020).
According to previous leaks and rumours, the iPhone 13 lineup would comprise four versions with the same sizes as last year’s models. It is thought that the new phones would have upgraded cameras, including a video portrait mode, an astrophotography mode, an improved ultrawide lens, as well as an improved optical zoom for video recording.
On top of all that, the Apple Watch 7 is rumoured to have a speedier processor, larger screens, and new watch faces. This year will see a major overhaul of the iPad Mini, as well.
At 1pm ET on September 14th, the fall event will be streamed live from Apple Park.
