    Does-Apple-Still-Innovate

Rumours have been all over as to when the Iphone 6 will be released but the question is will there be anything new or different from what some of us are already experiencing. Apple intends to release a 4.7 inch screen which for me is still the best size of any smartphone till date. The Samsung Galaxy S4,  HTC one are some of the models that carry this feature which is not bad at all.

Apple had not really released new eye popping models apart from the upgrades of the previous versions like the Iphone4s and the Iphone5s and of course you should be expecting a release of the Iphone6s(lol). The new Iphone 5c didnt get much attention as expected probably beacuse of the price tag which was not considered worth it by some because of the plastic casing. This same price divided into two will give you a Nexus 5 or midrange phones like the Samsung Galaxy Grand2, Samsung Galaxy S3, MotoG and a whole lot of others. The Dual Sim guys are in another world of their own attracting customers. Interestingly, the known brands like HTC, Samsung and upcoming Chinese OEM’s like ZTE and Huawei have these variants in stock.

If Steve Jobs was alive, would He have allowed this to happen? But Apple also makes mistakes. This was the company that fired Steve Jobs. This is the company that lost the desktop war to Microsoft’s Windows. And on mobile devices, Apple has only a minority share while Google’s Android has become the phone for the masses.

IPhone is the major revenue engine of Apple. It generates 68% of the company’s entire profits. But unfortunately, Smartphoe prices are not moving in favour of Apple. Samsung’s latest flagship price as at now is about 70% of the Iphone5c. Despite the price rigidity of Apple products, They should be well commended for perfection of their products and solid ecosystem. However, Apple is not ignoring competition and has made intentons known to release the Iphone6 which might be 4.7inch screen size(still rumours).

There is still a problem with Apple which for me is major. Their inability to share is daunting. They love their own thing. We just heard they intend to introduce itunes to the Android playstore but that is not enough. Nokia took the bull by the horn when it went into alliance with Microsoft to produce Windows phones. Now they have tied knots with Android with their Nokia X, XL and X+ models which are budget phones.

Apple’s excuse of security and uniqueness is not tenable. The world today is all about partnership. Another question is what next after the Iphone6? Samsung has a habit of releasing information of their next line of innovation years or months before their actual release which gets one prepared to make a choice. It seems Apple has run out of innovation. Gadgets fans are tired of upgrades. They want the real thing. They want something new.
