iPhone not connecting to Windows 10 or 11 PC? Here are 7 ways to resolve it

iCloud Passwords and other services continue to be supported by Apple for Windows devices. The problem happens when the iPhone fails to connect to a Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC without a warning sign. Thank goodness there are several checks to resolve the problem.

    1. INSPECT THE DATA CABLE

The normal iPhone cable is well-known for its poor quality. If the cable is slightly damaged, it can disrupt the PC connection. Inspect the cable from both sides. Try another cable if you see any breaks. Use only Apple-certified cables for the best results.

    2. CHECK THE PORT

If a port on your Windows laptop or PC fails, your iPhone or other devices will be unable to connect to the computer. The majority of Windows 10 or 11 PCs have several ports. Try a different port, and if you have a Type-C to Lightning cable, use that.

    3.  UNLOCK YOUR PHONE

From a security standpoint, when connecting an iPhone to a computer, Apple requires a passcode confirmation.  Enable passcode lock for iPhone and accept iOS’s request to trust your PC.  Apple’s FaceID or TouchID authentication will not be required. Instead, you’ll need to enter a passcode in order to connect.

    4. ITUNES NEEDS TO BE UPDATED

There are regular upgrades to Windows 10 or 11’s iTunes app from Apple that improve the app’s reliability. The software, on the other hand, is known to have bugs and not provide the ideal user experience. This is a really simple process, as Microsoft distributes this app through the Microsoft Store.

    • First, open Microsoft Store on your computer.
    • Click on the Library menu at the bottom left of the screen to get started.
    • To update iTunes, click on Get Updates and follow the on-screen instructions that appear.

    5. CHECK ITUNES TO SEE IF IT NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED

However, if the program is not working properly even after updating it to the latest version, you will need to fix it from the Settings app. It can be restored using Windows’ built-in Repair tool.

    • Go to your Windows computer’s Settings app and click the “Settings” tab. To achieve this, press the Windows key and the I key simultaneously.
    • Select iTunes from the Apps menu.
    • Select the Advanced option from the More menu to continue.
    • In the Reset menu, scroll down and click the Repair button. Wait for Windows to fix the problem, then try connecting your iPhone to your Windows PC again.

    6. UPDATE YOUR DRIVER

Windows comes with the necessary drivers to connect your iPhone to your computer. If you’re experiencing problems connecting to your iPhone, you can update the drivers from the Device Manager option.

    • Device Manager can be found by pressing the Windows key and searching for it.
    • Click on “Portable Devices”.
    • Next, click on “Menu” and select “Apple iPhone”.
    • To update the drivers, right-click on it and choose Update Drivers.
    • Attempt to connect the iPhone again after restarting your Windows 10 or 11 computer.

    7. Finally, don’t forget to update Windows.

    Hope this helps?
