iOS 10 is the biggest iOS release ever and iPhone users will be happy with the announcements Apple made with the new iOS 10. iOS comes with new features showing us that Apple isn’t messing around this time because they needed to come up with something really good and I think they kind of nailed it with this update. Now let’s talk about these new features Apple introduced.
iPhone now wakes up right when you raise it, yes it’s not new but it’s a welcomed feature. You don’t need to touch a thing for your phone to light up, just raise it. A redesigned lock screen, a new Control Center, Notifications has a new look too, appearing in bubbles and allowing for rich responses to messages and calendar invites using 3D Touch. There are now widgets if you slide from the left, all accessible right from lock screen.
Maps is getting a redesign for iOS 10, New Apple Maps is going to be awesome, lots of commons sense features being added. Messages also gets a big upgrade, finally have rich links(something WhatsApp has had for a while now), invisible ink to hide the message until you open it, Emojis are now 3x bigger in the Messages app.
Smarter Siri, and Apple announced that iOS 10 will open up Siri to third-party developers. You can send WeChat messages, and can say the commands in a variety of ways thanks to what the company calls an “intense API.” Siri for iOS 10 is also going to be integrated into Slack, WhatsApp, Uber, Lyft and Didi by listening to your commands. Sending payments and VoIP is also ready for a Siri future.
Photos app is also receiving some nice upgrades like better facial recognition, and showing you memories from the past, cluster trips.
The upgrade will come with Quicktype. Deep learning allows phone to make reply suggestions on the fly
Apple music getting an overhaul. All new design which now includes the ability to show lyrics, so say goodbye to third-party apps and I’m sure Apple’s 15 million paid subscribers will probably like this new feature.
Phone and Voicemail will now be transcribed so you don’t have to listen and will alert you to possible SPAM, Apple HomeKit is getting an overhaul and is integrated with most major brands with new Home app. Apple News will get a better look and will include subscriptions.
Messages. Getting overhaul with rich links(good news; iMessage isn’t launching on Android), also, users can add a bunch of digital effects in Messages app.You can now swap real words with Emoji on the fly, you can now handwrite your message and can thumbs up what someone else wrote, Messages app will have bubble effects. Emoji will be 3 times bigger!!!
The OS is available to Developers starting from today but you can try iOS 10 Public Beta starting in July by going to https://beta.apple.com/, that is if you can’t wait till this fall for the official OS.
