    Introducing Vine app for Children – Vinekids

    Vine has built VineKids, a simple new app that gives young children a fun way to watch videos on Vine. Vinekids has the six second limit for videos like the regular Vine but its content is appropriately curated for kids.

    Vinekids pulls from the vault of videos created on the Vine Platform and chooses those that are appropriate for children. It is tailored to be child friendly – Swiping right or left shows a new Vine, and you can tap the screen to hear quirky sounds.

    According to Carolyn Penner, Head of Communications and Marketing in an official blog post;

    The idea came about during an office conversation in early January. One of my colleagues was talking about how much his two-year-old daughter loves Vine –– he said he wished there was a separate app she could use to more easily watch posts that are appropriate for kids. That week happened to be Hack Week, a time when we get to work on projects outside of our day-to-day work. So two folks teamed up and built exactly that.

    I wonder whether this new app has commercial motives or just a pet project. Though some might think it is an early adoption strategy to get people hooked onto Vine while they are very young.

    I don’t know if Vine as we know it, will still be available with the fast pace new apps are introduced. Even Twitter recently introduced a new service this same week

    I guess Vinekids can keep the kiddies occupied while the fun lasts.

    Vine Kids is available on iOS, and you can download it from the App Store. Enjoy!
