Ever wondered if you could join a fitness event when you get into a new city? This is actually one way you could get to meet people. Well Bosun Tijani, Co-founder and CEO of Co-Creation Hub has made it simple with the launch of a new app called Truppr.
According to Bosun on why he developed the app, “I play football for fun and fitness twice a week and consistently struggled to keep the routine due to difficulty in finding teammates and venues while on business trips or in new cities,”
Truppr is a social tool that helps sport lovers organize and find team mates for their favorite sports in cities around the world. With Truppr, you can look for a sporting event in your city or even start an event and get people to join you for the event. You can also share events with friends on the social network too.
“We see the African market as a space that could provide the right platform for us to grow sustainably considering the emerging interest in healthy living, a growing middle class, steady rise in income levels and diffusion of ICT. We want to be part of that growth by helping more people achieve their objective of making fitness a lifestyle,” Tijani said.
The app currently has about 7,500 users, 55 new users per day, and lists 343 events. According to the developers, 78 per cent of active users participate in at least three to five events per month – with the app only four months old. Truppr is incubated and funded by the Co-Creation Hub and has benefited from the Tony Elumelu Foundation early stage grant for technology ventures.
The Truppr app is available on the Google Play Store, Apple itunes Store and also on the web.
