HMD has finally unveiled its long awaited android smartphone – the Nokia 8. With this smartphone, Nokia has introduced a new buzzword called “bothie” . Be less Selfie. Be more #Bothie.
It is the world’s first smartphone that you can use both front and rear cameras simultaneously with Dual-Sight mode. It also lets you use both front and back cameras simultaneously to broadcast live on Facebook Live and YouTube Live, right from the camera.
The Nokia 8 features a 13 MP dual image-fusion rear camera with both colour and monochrome sensors, plus a wide-angle 13 MP phase detection auto-focus front camera. One shoots in color, the other only in black and white. Both front and rear cameras are equipped with ZEISS optics.
It has a bright 5.3” display with ultra HD resolution (2,560×1,440 pixels), protected by sculpted Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is precision machined from a single block of 6000 series aluminium and it has a beautiful polished mirror finish. ultra HD resolution (2,560×1,440 pixels)
Nokia 8 is built upon the cutting-edge Qualcomm Snapdragon™ 835 Mobile Platform, engineered to deliver exceptionally long battery life. Nokia also added a full-length copper cooling pipe with graphite shield to dissipate system heat across the full body of the phone. It has a 3090mAh2 battery and it is non-removable. It has 1 nano-SIM slot + 1 nano-SIM or 1 MicroSD card slot.
The smartphone comes ready with Android Nougat 7.1.1 OS. It has 4 GB of RAM and loads of space with 64 GB mass storage¹ and MicroSD card support up to 256 GB.
The retail price is €600 ($703 £547) and it is due out in September 2017.
Since HMD took over Nokia feature phones business in December, the company has launched four smartphones and five feature phones.

Wow! How come no one has ever thought of this before: using both front and back camera simultaneously? This is what makes Nokia Nokia: creativity. It’s been a while i was wow last by a phone’s specs. This really got my eyes ? bulging out of its sockets. Except for the price: $700+, that’s the only thing that could affect its sales in Africa.
