The second installment of the Intel Liftoff Hackathon beckons African AI startups to engage in a dynamic and collaborative competition, aptly aimed at spurring tech-savvy entrepreneurs, developers, and AI aficionados to co-create innovative solutions tailored to address the distinct challenges faced in Africa.
Scheduled to occur virtually from May 27 to 31, the Intel Liftoff Hackathon for African AI Startups has adopted the theme ‘Hack and Connect.’ This event unites an impressive roster of partners including Modus Africa, University Mohamed VI Polytechnic in Morocco, South Africa’s TUT Hub of Artificial Intelligence Institute, Prosper Africa, UM6P Ventures, FAST Accelerator, Innov8 Technology Hubs, and Open Startups International.
The hackathon agenda is peppered with immersive workshops designed to impart fundamental AI knowledge. Over three days, participants will dive into rigorous challenges, guided by mentors to put their competencies to the test. There will be avenues for startups to exhibit their concepts, potentially leading to partnership formations with leading figures in the industry.
Additionally, the hackathon offers rich networking opportunities, allowing participants to harmonize with peers and draw wisdom from AI specialists.
Victors of the competition will secure an exclusive invitation to partake in the Intel Lifloff for Startups programme. This prized inclusion will grant access to personalized mentoring exchanges with partners within the ecosystem and enhance their visibility through marketing initiatives, which include features in blog articles.
