Instagram is reportedly working on increasing the video length for its Reels to 1 minute and 30 seconds. The Meta-owned social platform presently allows users to record Reels of 15 seconds, 30 seconds, or 60 seconds. It added the option to record 60-second Reels in July 2021 and is now working on lengthening the video time.
As you can see in the above leak by Social media expert, Matt Navarra, the Social media site may soon have a 90-second option for Reels. Among the Reels editing options is a button that allows you to toggle between different time durations. According to Navarra, a new 90-second option is on its way.
As you can see in the above tweet, Leaker and Mobile Developer, Alessandro Paluzzi also mentioned in February this year, the possibility for Instagram to allow users create Reels video that would last for 90 seconds.
Users will be happy to have TikTok-style capabilities available to them. However, Instagram has continued to mimic TikTok’s features aside from the vertical feed and short videos. Other popular features include text-to-speech and voice effects that can be used in conjunction with Reels, and the ability to respond to comments with Reels.
Reels can be shared in a DM, on Stories, or in a dedicated section on the Explore page. People who don’t follow you may be able to see your Instagram Reels on the Explore page, just like TikTok videos. This implies that, regardless of the size of your following, your videos might be found by a broader audience based only on the level of engagement they generate.
