    Instagram carries out web overhaul

By Stephen Amaza on June 10, 2015 Apps, Exclusive, Products, Review

Instagram is paying attention to the look of its service on the web. The photo service which was at one time app-only has done a major overhaul of its website’s design.

The new Instagram on the web is now beautiful, flat, well designed interface with a light grey background. It has done away with the header made up of a collage of photos on profile pages and instead presents a clean background that is easy on the eyes.

IGInstagram now also allows hashtags on its service to be followed on the website, where it takes users to a page where other photos with the same hashtag are arranged chronologically – just like the mobile app.

Instagram says that the web overhaul is part of a focus on making the service more web-friendly, adding that last month Instagram’s newish embed feature, which lets websites embed photos on third party sites, was used to view photos 4.7 billion times.
