Just a few months ago, Facebook introduced Reels to give over 1 billion users on Instagram a new way to both create, and discover short and entertaining videos. Now the company has announced that it is integrating ‘Reels’ Into Facebook Social Network.
According to a Bloomberg News Report, Facebook is running a trial in India in which users can share Instagram Reels, short video clips with augmented-reality effects, in the news feed of the main blue app. As seen in the figure below, Facebook Inc.’s Instagram logo is displayed on the Instagram application. Hence copying the ideas of smaller rivals like TikTok and Snap Inc. and using the reach of its social network to promote these new services. Separately, Facebook is also renaming its own short-form video product “Reels on Facebook.”
The company has said that it will give a small number of creators in India (Facebook’s largest market ) the option to share their short video clips on Facebook Inc.’s main social network as part of a new test.
