Instagram rolls out new customizable ‘Add Yours’ templates

Instagram is launching a new feature aimed at making Stories more interactive and fun. As of today, users can create their own templates for the “Add Yours” feature. Instagram states that this feature allows users to “craft and share their unique, customizable Add Yours templates, using GIFs, text, and gallery photos as part of a Story template”.

To start creating a template, users should add GIFs, text, and desired images to their story and then navigate to their Sticker Tray where they can choose the Add Yours templates. They can then select the components they want their template to feature. The exciting part is that once a user shares an “Add Yours” template in their story, it’s available for anyone else to use and modify.

Users interested in utilizing someone else’s template simply need to tap the “Add Yours” prompt when viewing their story. They will be directed to the camera interface, where they can see and interact with every element of the template, adding their own twists as they want. Tapping the icons that show on the template’s left side will reveal who else has used and personalized the template.

With Add Yours templates, the possibilities are endless. Users could start a new trend, create a quiz, or even encourage others to share humorous pet photos. Personalizing prompts with images and GIFs could help templates stand out and draw the attention of other users. It’s worth noting that Instagram debuted templates for Reels previously.
