Yippee!! Instagram is testing a feature which enables a user to post from a desktop. Hitherto, you could only post directly on the gram via your mobile phone.
Some reports state that some people have noticed the new feature and now have the ability to now upload photos and videos directly from their desktop and share the same on Instagram.
The feature was first spotted by known tipster Matt Navarra and Instagram has confirmed this saying “We know that many people access Instagram from their computer,” an Instagram spokesperson said. “To improve that experience, we’re now testing the ability to create a Feed post on Instagram with their desktop browser.”
Now this feature is not available to everyone. However if you see a “plus” icon in the icon tray on the top right, then you should be able to test the feature.
This must be a welcome feature by many as influencers and frequent users have had to use third-party apps to create posts on desktops.
The facebook-owned platform has been notoriously slow in pushing features on the desktop as it has always wanted to focus on mobile. However Techcrunch points out that the change in mindset may be the fact that “apparently over the course of the pandemic, the company saw a rise in people cruising Instagram from their computers rather than their phones.”
