Two months after Instagram released a new app, Layouts for iOS, it has released the Android version of the app. The app arrays your photos in a variety of grids, to capitalize on a recent study by Instagram that showed that one in five Instagram users regularly post collages to their accounts.
Unlike most third party apps which asks users to choose the grid pattern they want, then takes them to select the desired photos, Layouts takes an opposite approach by asking the user to select the photos to share, and then brings up a list of layout patterns fitting the number of photos chosen; which reduces unnecessary decision making for users.
Layouts in available on the Play Store for free.
To sweeten the deal, Instagram released a new feature in an update to its Android app. The new feature is called Structure, a creative tool meant to bring out “textures and details” from photos, according to the company.
