Innovate Finance, a UK based membership organisation is currently calling for nominations as it compiles a powerlist of women shaping the future of Fintech around the world.
Innovate Finance is an independent not-for-profit membership association representing the UK’s global Fintech community.
Founded in 2014 with the support of the City of London and Canary Wharf Group, Innovate Finance aims to accelerate the UK’s leading position in the global financial services sector by directly supporting the next era of technology-led financial services innovators, from start-ups to institutions.
With over 250+ members, Innovate Finance seeks to address the key barriers and opportunities in the Fintech ecosystem: attracting greater investment, supporting the development of proportionate and effective regulation, engaging in community collaboration, and promoting innovation in financial services, whilst championing an open, inclusive and secular Fintech community.
Members range from start-ups to the world’s leading global corporations. Through Innovate Finance membership they have a single point of access to innovators, investors, regulators, policy makers and commercial partners.
Annually, the organisation compiles its powerlist of women in Fintech with the aim of closing the fintech gender gap by showcasing the women driving the global fintech space.
Members of the global system both male and female are invited to nominate and submit the names of female colleagues who should be recognised for their contribution to fintech. Self-nomination is also allowed.
The women that make up the powerlist play different roles in fintech ranging from executives and managers, to lawyers and journalists.
The initiative aims to celebrate all the unique journeys into fintech and the nominees’ collective contributions to the ecosystem, Innovate Finance said.
“We want to recognise the significant contribution that women make in fintech. Our annual powerlist celebrates the women playing an instrumental role in driving success across fintech,” said Lawrence Wintermeyer, chief executive officer (CEO) of Innovate Finance.
As a global movement, fintech requires a diverse range of voices to shape and influence its future, the organisation said, as such, nominations from around the world are encouraged.
“Innovate Finance are particularly interested in receiving nominations from international African entrepreneurs to reflect the dynamic innovations occurring across the continent and the key drivers behind them,” the organisation said.
Nominations can be submitted here, until October 31.
