San Francisco-based crowdfunding platform, Indiegogo has raised $40 million in funding to extend its global reach. The Series B funding was led by Institutional Venture Partners and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers with participation from Insight Venture Partners, MHS Capital, Metamorphic Ventures, and ff Venture Capital.
The latest funding round brings Indiegogo’s total funding to date to nearly than $57 million. Indiegogo proposes to use the funding to move further into mobile and expand its global presence
Founded in 2008, Indiegogo is the largest global crowdfunding platform, currently operational in every country in the world.

More than 190,000 campaigns have been launched on the site.
